NFL returns to London

The American NFL (National Football League) returns to London for three games this autumn. Each game will be played at Wembley Stadium, which has been home to NFL International Series games since 2007. NFL Football continues to be highly popular on this side of the Atlantic, with some players backing the creation of a London NFL team. The Oakland Raiders and Miami Dolphins are first up with a game this Sunday, 28 September. On 26 October, Atlanta Falcons take on Detroit Lions. In the final match, regular UK visitors Jacksonville Jaguars play Dallas Cowboys.

To coincide with the return of the NFL, The Institute of Sport, Exercise & Health will host a seminar on the 5 November for clinicians, looking at how injuries are managed in the NFL and the lessons for the management of sports injuries in the UK. The seminar, entitled ‘An Overview of Managing Injuries in American Football Players’, will be led by Dr Kevin Kaplan, Head Team Physician for the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team. HCA will be supplying medical support to the teams and NFL Family while they are in the UK including Urgent Care Centre at The Princess Grace Hospital, coverage of all practice sessions, GP services and full pitch side consultant lead medical team at Wembley stadium on game days. This is the 7th year that HCA & NFL have worked together to ensure that during the internationals series all the NFL family get the same quality service they receive during their home games across the pond.
